The SASS Clinical Faculty Awards
The School of Audiology and Speech Sciences established the Clinical Faculty Awards in 2009 to recognize clinical faculty who demonstrate excellence in and commitment to the clinical education of the School’s students.
The Awards include the Elizabeth MacLeod Award for Excellence in Clinical Education (Speech-Language Pathology), and the Noelle Lamb Award for Excellence in Clinical Education (Audiology).
Current Clinical Faculty Award Recipients
The Elizabeth MacLeod Award for Excellence in Clinical Education (Speech-Language Pathology) for 2011 has been awarded to Barbara Cotter. Ms. Cotter has experience in both health and education sectors and at present practices at the Richmond School District. She has been associated with our School since in 1990, and is a Clinical Assistant Professor.
The Noelle Lamb Award for Excellence in Clinical Education (Audiology) for 2011 has been awarded to Michelle Smits. Ms. Smits has worked in private practice as well as in public health, and is at present at Fraser Health Authority, North Delta Public Health. She has been associated with our Clinical Education program since 1997, and is a Clinical Instructor.
Previous recipients of these awards are Audiologists Grace Shyng and Brent McNeill, and Speech-Language Pathologists Dina Collins and Mary Lou Iceton.
The faculty and administration of the School of Audiology and Speech Sciences are pleased to have the opportunity to recognize Ms. Cotter and Ms. Smits for their many contributions to the School’s educational mission, and would like to extend sincere congratulations to them both.
